This is one of my favorite looks from this year’s Sephora Holiday Looks. I am a fan of greens, and from all the looks, I personally feel this is one of the most wearable ones. I knew I had to recreate it using the makeup I have. Guess what? Urban Decay Book of Shadows II has all the colors you’ll need for the eyes. As you know I have been crazy over this palette since I got it, and the fact I was able to come pretty close to this look using it makes me feel great about this purchase. I toned down the shimmer on the cheeks, since the eyes are quite shimmery, and kept the lips neutral given the eyes are the focus of this look.
Oh, and keep scrolling down for a surprise…
THERE IS A VIDEO! I hope you guys like it – it is my first one, so I will certainly try to improve from here. I wish you could see a different still!
Below the video is a step-by-step instruction on the eyes, and what I used for the cheeks and lips. Let me know what you guys think, or if you have any other suggestions on this look.
Eye How-To:
- Prime your eyelid with UD Primer Potion (or any other eye primer of your choice)
- With a large eyeshadow brush, take a few dabs of Flipside (aqua-green) and a few dabs of Homegrown (bright green) and apply to your eyelid. Take the colors up to slightly above the crease.
- Take more Homegrown and apply to your eyelid again to intensify the green.
- With a crease brush, take Misdemeanor (forest green with blue undertones) and apply to your crease in a windshield wiping motion. Take Misdemeanor all the way into the inside of your eye, meeting the inside part of your eyebrow.
- Using the same crease brush, grab more Misdemeanor and apply to the outer corner of the eye, making an outer V. Blend, blend, blend!
- With a small eyeshadow brush, apply a gold cream eyeshadow as a base on your browbone and inner corner of your eye. I used CK Creme Eyeshadow in Champage Satin #303. If you don’t have this, you can skip this step. I wanted to intensify the highlight.
- With the same small brush, dab some Half-Baked (gold) and Sellout (shimmery beige) simultaneously and apply over the cream eyeshadow on both your eyebrow and inner corner.
- With a fluffly brush, blend the colors between the crease and browbone to eliminate any harsh lines.
- Apply two coats of volumizing mascara.
Cheeks and Lips:
- Apply a bright pink blush to your cheeks. I prefer a matte blush to offset the shimmer of the eyes. I used Bare Escentuals blush in Beauty.
- For a bit of highlight on the bridge of the nose and slightly above the cheeks, I dabbed just a bit of Bare Minerals All-Over Face Radiance in Pure Radiance using my finger to pat.
- For the lips I used Rimmel’s lipstick in Birthday Suit, #250.
Rock on!
