Last night, I attended the first of my Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week shows – more less considered a preview. After trekking through the snow storm and stepping in endless puddles of melted snow, I arrived at the Anario Gallery in Chelsea to view Yuna Yang’s F/W 2010 presentation, on assignment for Dream Sequins. At the gallery, I completely forgot the fact that my feet were sopping wet due to a hole in my rain boot, and stood in awe admiring Yuna Yang’s works of art.
At the gallery, I ran into fellow fashion blogger Lala from LalaNYC and had the pleasure to meet Erin and Lani from Sugar Rock Catwalk. After Yuna Yang, we headed over to the Gen Art New Garde presentation, and I soaked it all in – the people-watching, the fashion… I spotted gorgeous Molly Sims sitting on a couch, chatting away, and I met the lovely Aneta Genova, the face behind Bobbin Talk. I even got to make my own dinner – er – berry mojito drink, courtesy of Patron Tequila. Unbeknownst to me, I was being filmed by MTV’s “The City” while crushing berries and mint leaves. I had to sign a release form, followed by having my picture taken for their records. I have never watched the show, but may have to and see if I can spot myself in a scene!
Despite the bad weather, I had an awesome time, and I cannot wait to check out all the other shows and presentations this week. Stay tuned on Dream Sequins for designer-specific coverage. I’ll continue to share the experience of a Fashion Week newb here!
